About Huckleberry Ridge Farm

Our Story

Huckleberry Ridge Farm is a Veteran-owned and operated small farm focused on providing fresh, sustainably-sourced lamb, chicken, eggs, and honey.

After a 25-year career in the US Army, with 13 moves and multiple deployments, Ed returned to New Hampshire in 2022 to be near family and explore his interest in sustainable agriculture.

Our Products

We offer free range eggs, pasture-raised broiler chickens, and pasture raised lamb.

We also offer local honey, extracted on-site from our own hives.

As we grow, we hope to expand these offerings throughout the year.

Our Farming Practices

At Huckleberry Ridge Farm, we believe in sustainable farming practices that promote the health of our land, our crops, and our customers. We use natural fertilizers and pest control methods, rotate our crops, and conserve water to ensure that our farming practices are environmentally responsible.

We don't have a brick and mortar storefront (maybe in the future!) so all payments are either cash on delivery, or online payment ahead of time.

Free range broiler

$3/lbs

We source our broilers as chicks from reputable hatcheries and grow them to adulthood in mobile coops that we move to fresh forage daily.  This allows the birds to grow on a foraged diet of fresh grass, seeds, and bugs while securing them from predators.  The resulting meat is far more flavorful than that from a traditionally-raised chicken.

Free Range Eggs

$5/ dozen

We source our laying hens as chicks from reputable hatcheries, and then raise them here on the Farm.  From the time we open the coops in the morning until we close them at night, our hens have full access to the pastures, ponds, and woods, from which they forage a diverse diet of plants, seeds, and bugs.  This results in eggs with large, bright orange yolks that have an incredible flavor!

Grass-fed lamb

All of our sheep are raised on the pastures here on the farm. They are given maximum opportunity to wander and graze in the pasture that they are in. When the forage in that pasture is consumed, we rotate the sheep to new pastures give the grazed one a chance to rest and re-grow, ensuring that we don't over-graze and end up damaging the soil underneath. As of 29 July, 2024, five lambs are available for pre-order. They will be slaughtered this fall. Prices are current as of July 29, 2024.

Local Honey

Our honey bees are kept on-site as part of our growing sustainable agriculture system. We harvest honey when it is apparent that each colony will have enough to survive the winter. The bees forage from whatever is blooming at any given time, giving honey made and harvested at different times of the year different coloring. Another product of our beehives is beeswax, which we render after harvesting honey.
